Doe Gnome is an independent publisher making a book series for people who have recently become agnostic. The client asked for a simple wordmark that felt trustworthy but a little unconventional.

The wordmark and the “Doubt Saves” tagline are set in Forest Retreat. “Don’t know!” and “Publishing” are hand-lettered, based on Chappell Script, a 1912 script typeface.

The lion and cherub illustration was drawn in Procreate in a simple linework style. It was based on an image sent by the client. It can work nicely with color fill, as shown in the drafts. The eight-point star on the lion is also used on its own as a brand mark. Everything was vectorized and delivered as SVG+PNG.
